In 2022, young people and organizers were eager to finally get together after two tough years of Covid19, which demonstrated the high number of registrations.
This 8th edition marked the return to a unique date. With a few exceptions, the various local events were held on 12 July 2022, thus renewing the tradition of an initiative carried out on a common date, and thus marking the strong link between the different countries of the Alps and the Carpathians.

In the end, 30 protected areas organized a total of 32 local events across 8 countries of the Alps and Carpathians. A surprise was the high number of participants from the Carpathian parks. While they were poorly represented in the early years, this year they represented almost 30%.

To facilitate this 8th edition, the organizers were invited to organize various educational activities on the theme «Water in all its forms». The objective of this topic is on the one hand the transmission of knowledge about water as a natural element in the various states: solid, liquid and gaseous. On the other hand, attention must be drawn to water as an increasingly precious and rare commodity in times of climate change.

Sommererlebnistage im Natur- und Geopark. An diesem Schwerpunkttag Youth at the top sind wir unterwegs mit Kindern zwischen 6 und 14 Jahren im sogenannten GeoDorf gams (www.geodorf.com). Wir sind zwar nicht sehr alpin unterwegs, aber dieser Tag steht ganz in Zeichen der Alpinen Bergrettungen aus der Region. Die Kinder lernen die Tätigkeiten von der Bergrettung kennen, richtiges Verhalten im alpinen Gelände und in der Natur. Erste Hilfe steht ebenso am Programm. Ein idealer Wissensvermittlungstag für Kinder aus den 4 Natur- und Geoparkgemeinden und Touristen. Passend zum Thema "Water in all forms" gibt es Eindrücke wie Wasser die Landschaft formt. Und das kann man am Besten im GeoDorf Gams entdecken mit einer Begehung entlang des Gamsbaches und Nothklamm, Karsterscheinungen und Veränderungen in der Landschaft inklusive. 2 NaturvermittlerInnen unterstützen den Tag.

Dogodek bomo organizirali za otroke stare od 6 do 25 let. Najprej bomo v Solčavi izvedli delavnice, kjer bodo otroci izdelovali vodne mline iz naravnega materiala (les, kamen). V primeru večjega števila starejših otrok, bodo le-ti lahko izdelali en skupen mlin, kamor bo lahko vsak nekaj narisal/pobarval. Vse izdelke bomo kasneje razstavili v Solčavi. V popoldanskih/večernih urah bomo s starejšimi otroci šli na pešpot v Logarski dolini, ki je locirana ob vodi. Med potjo bomo pripovedovali zgodbe in legende o Solčavskem.
